Welcome to the Birdwatching Page!
Note from Instructor
Birdwatching can be as simple as listening for and observing bird activity in your backyard anytime you're outdoors. You can also observe birds from the comfort of your home by simply looking out the window into your yard and observing their activity. For a fun activity, you can set up a bird feeder near a favorite viewing window and watch their behavior as they feed. You can make some birds very happy by adding more food resources for them! Below you will find resources about basic, intermediate and advanced birding skills. I hope you enjoy this page and visit it often over the years as I add to it.
Happy Birding!

Activity Challenges for Natureglo's Summer eWorkshops - These challenges are for students to try at their own pace and in any order.
Activity Challenge eWorkshop #1 - Observe the birds in your backyard, neighborhood, local park or wherever you are for 10 - 20 minutes at least 2X during the week, but the more, the merrier. Pay close attention to the most common birds that you see. Try to count how many of the most common birds you see. Journal about the experience in your bird field journal and include drawings of the birds, the best you can. If you can, try to get photographs and videos to share. If you take photographs, consider uploading them to a blog to share with others.
